Also known as Dirge, Trickster or Espiacrooner. A bohemian traveler who performs with such passion and vigor that they invoke the sympathy of the natural spirits of the world and affect the souls of living things.

Bards are wily explorers who accrue knowledge as they chart the world. Their sociability makes them excellent ambassadors, and opens many gates to them that would ordinarily be shut to others. As such, a well-traveled Bard knows a little bit of everything, has a useful friend in every region, and can charm even the most ornery mark. Bards can add their level to their spell resistance roll as well as any Knowledge roll. They can also invoke a form of trickster magic by using any Perform skill known as Bardic Music once per level daily:

(3 Perform) Counter-song as an action to force a target to roll WIS against DC 10 + the Bard's Perform or fail a spell cast.

(3 Perform) Mesmerize a target, allowing the victim to roll WIS vs the Bard's CHA to resist the urge to stop what they're doing and listen quietly. Any obvious threat from their field of vision like a weapon being readied or a spell being cast allows the victim to reroll at advantage. The Bard can target one more target per 3 levels, and if their concentration is broken they must roll Concentration or fail. If they fail to mesmerize a target, they cannot target it with this again for 24 hours.

(3 Perform) Inspire Courage, adding half their Perform skill (rounded up) to the spell save of anyone being targeted by a detrimental spell from the Enchantment school.

Level 2: Bards can cast spells as a Wizard half their level rounded down, using CHA as their spellcasting attribute instead of INT.

(Lv 3, 3 Perform) Inspire Competence adds +2 (+4 at level 13) to an ally's skill check.

(Lv 6, 6 Perform) Suggest to a mesmerized target, similar to the spell Command.

(Lv 9, 9 Perform) Inspire Heroism adds +2 (+4 at level 15) to allies' accuracy roll.

(Lv 12, 12 Perform) Song of Freedom breaks detrimental Enchantment spells.

(Lv 15, 15 Perform) Meditative Chant heals allies 1 point per level after 6 turns.

(Lv 18, 18 Perform) Suggestion becomes an area-wide ability, affecting any target currently being mesmerized.
